The term anthropocene marks the return of the term human, long discredited in the wake of poststructuralism, to the Humanities. This volumes examines the contribution that philosophical anthropology can bring to the debate about the anthropocene, it discusses the relationship between the categories of human, anthropos and species, and it examines negative anthropology as a possible intermediate position between post- and neo-humanism.
