For the first eighteen years of Simon Weisz''s life his parents were at pains to keep their past concealed from him. All he knew for sure was that they had grown up in Hungary and that they had arrived in Britain after the Second World War. Simon Weisz* read English at Cambridge University, subsequently winning a scholarship to the Guildhall School of Music & Drama where he gained a Diploma in Opera Studies. He sang professionally for a number of years before embarking on a marketing career, ultimately establishing his own agency which promoted the work of various international architecture studios. More recently he gained a Diploma in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling and now pursues a career as a psychotherapeutic counsellor in the West Country.

Himmler's Curtains, which was short-listed in 2024 for the inaugural Footnote x Counterpoints Writing Prize, is his first book.
