Sara Amini is an Iranian-Colombian actress who has starred in various television series, been the face of nearly two dozen commercial campaigns, and voiced characters in both video games and animation. Shadia Amin is a Colombian cartoonist and illustrator based in Savannah, Georgia. She graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) with a bachelor's degree in sequential art, minoring in illustration. She later earned her master's degree in sequential art, also from SCAD. Her art aims to capture the fun of superheroes, fantasy, and life itself, and her works include Shiny Misfits, Spider-Ham, Aggretsuko, and Olive & Popeye. She has also contributed to anthologies like Alloy: Electrum and Votes for Women: The Battle for the 19th Amendment. Seventh grade couldn't be off to a better start: Sara's joined drama club and made the volleyball team, she has great friends and a growing crush, and now that she's thirteen -- officially a teenager! -- she has increased responsibilities at home.

But Sara starts to struggle... Because of her volleyball schedule, she's not cast in the play. And due to her commitment to drama club, she's benched during the big game. To make matters worse, her crush, Hector, only seems to talk to her when he needs help in math class (and her friends are noticing the pattern). And to top it off, her parents pick and choose when to treat her like a kid or a grown-up.
