Raymond McGrath is an award-winning veteran of the film, television, advertising, and children's publishing industries, but his focus is on storytelling. His books have been published all over the world, he is a New York Times best-seller's list illustrator, and he is the creator of New Zealand's TV show for kids, Puzzle Inc. Raymond currently works as an artist on the international and award-winning television series, Kiri and Lou, and as a senior animator on the BBC series Tiny Wonders. He lives in the country in New Zealand with his wife, four children, a cat, a smelly, sock-eating dog, and a small but perfectly formed cluckery of chickens.

Summer is here! The days are long. The cherries are ripe. And the hot sun hangs high in the sky . . .

Early in the morning, Bird and Spider try to beat the heat in Bird's fancy nest, but it's still too hot to handle. All of a sudden, they hear cries for help! Soon, they find a friendly worm stuck in the sun. Bird and Spider provide some shade so Worm can get all slimy and healthy again. Everyone knows an early bird catches the worm . . . but will that prove true for friendship too?
