MALCOLM ANDREW was formerly Professor of English Language and Literature at Queen's University Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK. His publications include an edition of The Poems of the Pearl Manuscript , with Ronald Wakdron, 1978, a collection of essays on The Canterbury Tales , 1991, a volume of explanatory notes on 'The General Prologue' for the Varorium Chaucer, 1993, and the revised version of A.C. Cawley's edition of Chaucer , 1996.
