It examines the dream theories of psychoanalyst Wilfred Bion in relation to Upanishadic conceptions of the Self, followed by an exploration of contemporary neuroscientific perspectives on selfhood. Edward Miller is a medical doctor and senior child and adolescent psychiatry registrar who is a member of both the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He is currently based in Auckland, New Zealand, and is an Honorary Clinical Lecturer with the University of Auckland. Aside from his clinical work with children, young people and their families, he has an interest in mind brain science, neurophilosophy and philosophy of mind, spirituality, and mental health research.
