The Dominican nuns of St. Katharina's convent in Saint Gall dedicated themselves especially to their library and the production of manuscripts in the convent's own scriptorium. Based on this exemplary case, the present study provides a comprehensive overview of monastic text production and gives important insights into the culture of medieval writing and the convent as a place of literary culture.
