The Braunschweigische Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft (BWG) is a traditional scientific society, in which the interaction between natural and technical sciences and humanities is cultivated. The yearbook 2021 of the BWG provides an overview of the activities of the society, its research projects and public as well internal BWG lectures and scientific treatises by BWG members and invited scientists. Further milestones are the results of the BWG commission Synergy and Intelligence (SynENZ) on the topic Can degrees of interaction between natural and artificial intelligence be determined? and the reports from the BWG Cross-sectional area RECOLLECT regarding collection research with a focus on Epidemic history and Epidemic development. The range of events and contributions demonstrate the diversity of the current research in an inter-disciplinary context.
