It is clever, skilful music that marshals its forces well. These outer parts enclose a slower middle section that after some uncertain chromaticism at its opening, builds to a convincing climax.

Born in London in 1978, Tarik O'Regan is one of the most exciting new choral composers to emerge in recent years. Educated at Oxford and Cambridge, his choral works have been performed by, among others, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Los Angeles Master Chorale. O'Regan divides his time between New York City and Trinity College, Cambridge, where he is Fellow Commoner in the Creative Arts.
