More than any other author of the New Testament, Paul makes a truly unique and creative use of the terminology of crucifixion. Why is that? This study, analyzing the First Epistle to the Corinthians (14) and the Epistle to the Galatians, makes use of a number of different methods and successfully demonstrates that Paul's "language of the Cross" aims to specify and strengthen the evolving identity of the Churches.
