How can vulnerability serve as a lens for rethinking Israeli society beyond the dominant conflict paradigm? This volume offers a multidisciplinary exploration of Israel through vulnerability as an analytical categoryunderstood not as weakness, but as a constitutive dimension of human and collective experience. Setting aside direct engagement with the IsraeliPalestinian question, the book examines how memory, space, the body, and care shape symbolic and institutional landscapes. Drawing on cultural geography, medical history, literary studies, critical theory, bioethics, and environmental thought, the contributions show how vulnerability operates across diverse domainsfrom hospital infrastructure and clinical ethics to urban renewal and ecological resilience. By rethinking Israel through vulnerability, the volume opens new theoretical and methodological pathways for scholars in Israel Studies, cultural theory, and the social sciences, offering a post-paradigmatic perspective on space, care, and meaning. It will be of particular interest to researchers seeking alternative frameworks for analyzing contemporary Israeli society.
