What if you could step into the hidden space between one second and the next?

Sixteen-year-old Nico Capizoli is already late for school when a mysterious bolt of blue lightning strikes Bellora's ancient clock tower and changes everything. Suddenly, Nico can enter a frozen world where rain hangs in the air, people stand motionless, and time stops for everyone except him.

But the Hidden Second comes with a cost. Every breath is harder. Every moment inside drains his strength. And something beneath Bellora knows he is there.

As mechanical creatures invade the city and people begin losing memories and pieces of their lives, Nico discovers the Chronometer, a powerful machine built by Silas Ormond, a brilliant inventor devastated by the death of his young son. Silas believes he can steal enough time to rewrite the past, even if doing so traps all of Bellora inside one lost hour.

With the help of his loyal friends and his loving, hilarious family, Nico must learn to control his dangerous new ability, uncover the secrets hidden beneath the city, and stop Silas before time itself is torn apart.

Filled with nonstop action, laugh-out-loud humor, mystery, heart, unforgettable characters, and breathtaking adventure, The Boy Between Seconds is a thrilling young adult superhero novel about courage, friendship, family, grief, and the choices that turn an ordinary person into a hero.
