Oless Ulianenko (pen name of Oleksandr Ulianov, 1962-2010) was an iconoclastic, nonconformist Ukrainian writer known for his experimental prose that did not shy away from explicit depictions of difficult social, psychological, and sexual issues. The author of over twenty novels and numerous short stories, Ulianenko's only official recognition remains the 1997 Junior Taras Shevchenko Prize for Stalinville.
