Aurelius - Meditations. A special edition hardcover embossed with silver foil

The diary-like notes of Marcus Aurelius, the last Roman emperor of the Golden Age, are a unique combination of life experience and philosophical insight. In various military camps, he wrote down what life and his role models had taught him about the Stoic art of wisdom: Humanity and tolerance, modesty and respect, prudence and reason are among the virtues he recommends to himself - and to posterity. Aurelius' aphorisms and reflections are among the most impressive texts in world literature. This special hardcover edition embossed with silver foil entails the classic translation by Charles Reginald Haines.
