This book critically summarizes the effects of various suitable alloying elements and particulate reinforcements on mechanical and degradation properties of pure Mg and Mg alloys targeting biomedical applications. The suitability of alloying elements and particulate reinforcements are discussed based on their levels of toxic effects on human body. Dr. Manoj Dashrathlal Gupta (MBBS, MD, DNB, LLB, PGDHA) is a Hyperbaric Physician currently the Director of Prana Wound Care & Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Centre, Mumbai, for 14 years. Additionally, He has been working as Director and Head of the Department of Hyperbaric Medicine at Kiran Hospital and Medical College, Surat, Director of Sailee Hospital & Diagnostic Centre, Mumbai, for the last 15 years, Director, "Of HBOT Academy" Mumbai, Faculty of hyperbaric medicine "HBOT Academy" Mumbai (Recognized by Maharashtra University of Health Sciences) and Founder President of Indian Hyperbaric and Diving medicine association, India. He is also the Founder President of the Indian Hyperbaric and Diving medicine association. Besides this, he is also a member of the undersea hyperbaric medical society and the Asian Hyperbaric and diving medical association. Dr. Indumathi Somasundaram (Ph.D.) is working as an Associate Professor at the Kolhapur Institute of Technology, College of Engineering in the Dept of Biotechnology.
