Professor Jonathan J. Webster is Head of the Department of Chinese, Translation and Linguistics at the City University of Hong Kong. He is also the Managing Editor of the International Linguistics Association's journal WORD, and the editor of the forthcoming Journal of World Languages (2014). David Butt is Associate Professor of Linguistics at Macquarie University, Australia.Federico Navarro holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics and is a Full Professor and former Dean at Universidad de O'Higgins, Chile. He was the founding chair of the Latin American Association of Writing Studies. His most recent project explored the connections between writing and academic achievement. He has led 10 research projects and has published over 150 papers across 12 countries. Recent publications include the position statement Rethinking English as a lingua franca in scientific-academic contexts.
