Semiotics offers methods for constructing the meaning of social practices and cultural productions, and the most appropriate level for this is forms of living . They are the semiotic constituents of cultures and are made up of signs, texts, objects and practices. They provide us reasons to exist, persist and act in this world. Forms of living amount to the widest cultural semiosis inside semiospheres, accounting for the latter's coherence and metamorphoses. Since structural semiotics is empirical, this volume develops in a series of concrete studies: through these, the book navigates the configurations of the beautiful gesture, fashion seasons, media belief systems, competitiveness, transparency and territories.
