Coconut shell is used as an aggregate in concrete production. It is possible to produce lightweight concrete using coconut shell as an aggregate. Coconut shell aggregate concrete properties both in fresh state and in hardened state are comparable with conventional concrete. Bond properties and durability properties of this concrete were well with in the range required to use as concrete. Structural behavior of coconut shell aggregate concrete under flexure, shear and torsion is similar to that of conventional concrete.
