The study of aesthetics is critical in today's learning, due to the increasingly complex ways in which we communicate meaning, such as through the presentation of texts and objects. Dr Georgina Barton is a Professor of literacies and pedagogy in the School of Education at the University of Southern Queensland in Australia. She was a teacher and leader in schools for over 20 years, including as Head of the Arts. Her research areas include literacies, multimodality, and the arts in education, often working with socio-cultural diverse groups using arts-based research methods.
