A brother and sister find themselves at a crossroads during a single summer that changes everything for their family legacy—a captivating historical novel from the USA Today bestselling author of the Italian hit The Letter Carrier.

"Domani domani" translates to "tomorrow tomorrow." This is a novel that asks: what would you want your tomorrow to be?

Lorenzo and Agnese have only ever known the soap factory. Passed down through generations, its intoxicating scents of talcum powder, flowers, and vegetable oils have seeped into their skin and become one with their family name. But when their father decides to break with tradition and sell the money-sucking facility that he has only ever seen as a burden, the siblings are faced with a choice: follow their father on a path to something else, or fight for what they’ve been told is their birthright?

Agnese can’t seem to let her small hometown go and is determined to make the most of the situation, choosing to work for the factory’s new owner. But Lorenzo feels differently, throws his hands up, and sets off for Lecce, a bigger city with more opportunities, leaving his family and fiancé behind. These two opposite choices, made in the heat of the moment, causes a rift in the once-close siblings.

As Agnese starts to find her voice as an employee and meets a man who offers her a love she’s never experienced, Lorenzo becomes more obsessed with finding a way to make enough to buy the factory back. Their parents are caught in the middle, their longtime friends are confused by their tension, and as the distance between them grows, their ability to reconcile, to be co-owners of the soap enterprise their grandfather started, becomes less feasible.

Will Lorenzo and Agnese find their way back to one another or will their stubbornness and pride get in the way of reconnecting? Will tomorrow never come? Giannone’s next great work of historical fiction, rich with the history of 1950s and 60s Italy, is filled with vibrant and provocative characters who challenge the status quo and wonder if perhaps what’s in their small hometown is all that there is to the world.
