This book reviews the general acute effects and adaptations of small-sided and conditioned games (SSCGs) in terms of physiological responses, technical performance and methodology/periodization in the game of soccer. It also reviews the many studies conducted in the past decade to investigate the influence of SSCGs on physiological responses and technical performance in soccer training. 1) Frutuoso G. M. Silva is Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science at UBI and leader of the Regain group of Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT), Portugal. His research interests include geometric modeling, augmented reality, and computer games. Quoc Trong Nguyen is a PhD student and researcher at the Instituto de Telecomunicacões, Universidade da Beira Interior, Covilhã, Portugal. His research interests include geometric computing, point-based graphics, and visualization. Acácio F. P. P. Correia has recently finished a Master's Degree in Computer Science and Engineering, at the Universidade da Beira Interior. His professional interests include procedural generation, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, cryptography and video game development. Filipe Manuel Clemente is Assistant Professor at the Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo and researcher in Instituto de Telecomunicações, Delegação da Covilhã (Portugal).
