This book introduces the principles of microalgal biotechnology with a view to its industrial applications. Microalgae are capable of converting carbon dioxide and sunlight into valuable products, giving them great potential for "green" technologies. The authors discuss both the biochemical foundations and the unique process engineering challenges of microalgal processes.
