Klappentext

A lyrical picture book about how our ancestors live on in the earth, and what we can learn from nature-if we listen-from Carole Lindstrom, author of My Powerful Hair and the bestselling We Are Water Protectors**, and Newbery Honoree Nasugraq Rainey Hopson**

Stones speak-if you listen.

Made of millions upon millions of years, of leaves, twigs, and earth, the stones beneath our feet have experienced everything and evolved over many, many generations. Called mishomis (meaning "grandfather") by the Ojibwe people, these stones are our ancestors, and they have many stories to tell.

From Carole Lindstrom, author of My Powerful Hair and The New York Times bestseller and Caldecott Medal winner We Are Water Protectors, and Nasugraq Rainey Hopson, author-illustrator of the Newbery Honor Book Eagle Drums, this melodic, soothing picture book calls us to be still, to wonder at the great and small things in nature, and to listen to the wisdom of those who came before us.

For we are the earth-and the earth is us.
