Professor Dr.-Ing. Andreas Küchler ist Institutsleiter an der Hochschule Würzburg-Schweinfurt. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte sind Isoliersysteme für Gleichspannungsanwendungen, Transformatoren, und Durchführungen sowie Zustandsbewertung elektrischer Betriebsmittel und industrielle Anwendungen der Hochspannungstechnik. Prof. Küchler studierte Elektrotechnik an der Universität Karlsruhe, und er arbeitete auf dem Gebiet der Hochleistungsimpulstechnik in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe. Anschließend war er als Entwicklungsleiter der F&G Hochspannungsgeräte Porz GmbH in Köln für die Entwicklung von Durchführungen, Kondensatoren und HGÜ-Isoliersystemen verantwortlich. An der Hochschule hat Prof. Küchler den interdisziplinären Forschungsschwerpunkt "Gleichstromtechnologie" und das Institut für Energie- und Hochspannungstechnik aufgebaut. Prof. Küchler ist in nationalen und internationalen Gremien und Arbeitsgruppen aktiv, wie z.B. ETG Q2 (Werkstoffe, Isoliersysteme, Diagnostik) oder CIGRÉ SC A2 (Transformers) und D1 (Materials and Emerging Test Techniques).
