Allen Levi wuchs in Columbus, Georgia, auf und studierte an der University of Georgia Englisch und Rechtswissenschaften. Nach einem Jahrzehnt in der Praxis zog er nach Schottland und erwarb seinen MSc an der University of Edinburgh.2018 begann er mit der Arbeit an seinem ersten Roman, Theo in Golden, nachdem er sich selbst herausgefordert hatte, ein längeres fiktionales Werk zu schreiben. Vier Jahre, mehrere Fassungen und eine Recherchereise nach Portugal später war sein Debüt fertig.Heute, mit 168.000 verkauften Exemplaren, schreiben ihm seine Leser täglich Briefe und sind alle seine Lesungen ausverkauft.
