Trev enjoys writing romantic comedy, short stories and poetry, being runner-up in the prestigious Mensa 'Poet of the Year' award in 2012 - in a year of record entries he came second with his poem 'Epitaph', described by the judges as 'moving and evocative'. He is well-known locally in Somerset for his humorous after-dinner speeches, and other interests include caring for the countryside and wildlife, which he contrasts with being an avid follower of Formula One motor-racing and professional boxing. A member of the 'Society of Authors' and of 'Mensa', in his early twenties he qualified as a private pilot on fixed wing aircraft, to which he later added a helicopter rating, and was once a part-time instructor at an international racing drivers school, teaching pupils in the arts and techniques of race driving in Formula Three single seaters. He has travelled extensively throughout Britain, the United States, Continental Europe and West Australia, including many miles driving in the Outback. Trev lives in an ancient farmhouse in the English County of Somerset with his wife, Joyce, by whom he has two sons.
