Robert Tallant and five others run afoul of the Green Veil, a rift in spacetime that appears periodically as a result of an event that damaged or destroyed numerous timelines, while traveling a road in Kansas. He awakens to find three things: 1) He and his group have been moved forward in time to the year 5432. 2) In the interim, humanity has attempted to end war via a eugenics project, which has gone awry. The race is nonviolent and dying off. 3) Aliens are attacking human settlements on Earth. It is up to Robert and the resources he can gather -- mostly other time travelers -- to try to fix things.
