General Maximinus Gigas was betrayed, and in his quest to find justice for the murder of his wife and daughter, he places the town of Nepheris under seige. Doom hangs over the town and Publica Valeria, the daughter of a local magistrate must make a perilous choice. To save her people from destruction, she offers herself to the warlord.
