Zusammenfassung
Die Suche nach neuen Erkenntnissen über das Galiläa des ersten Jahrhunderts ist ein intensiv diskutiertes Forschungsfeld geworden. Besonderes Interesse gilt dem Einfluß von Herodes Antipas auf die sozio-ökonomische Stabilität dieser Region. War er Fluch oder Segen für die einfachen Bauern, und hatte sein Programm zur Urbanisierung einen entscheidenden Einfluß auf den historischen Jesus? Morten Hørning Jensen untersucht sowohl literarische wie auch archäologische Quellen zu dieser Regierungszeit, um die sozio-ökonomischen Folgen jener Herrschaft zu bestimmen. Er argumentiert, daß der Einfluß von Antipas auf das Galiläa des ersten Jahrhunderts höchstwahrscheinlich geringer ist als bisher von vielen Forschern angenommen.
