The author's argument is supported by rich empirical material. It places partnership schemes in a broader social context and provides a deep insight into the phenomenon.

Dr. Font is director of the Bildner Center for Western Hemisphere Studies and Professor of Sociology at the Graduate Center and Queens College, CUNY. He has taught at the University of Michigan, Rutgers, University, the University of Brasilia, IUPERJ, and UNESP.
