His publications include an edition of The Poems of the Pearl Manuscript, with Ronald Wakdron, 1978, a collection of essays on The Canterbury Tales, 1991, a volume of explanatory notes on 'The General Prologue' for the Varorium Chaucer, 1993, and the revised version of A.C. Cawley's edition of Chaucer, 1996.
