COVID-19 and the Left

This book examines the rise of a new form of emergency capitalism in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, exploring the Left's abandonment of its self-understanding as a critical force against unfettered capital accumulation, social discrimination and state power, and its adoption of a position aligned with the neoliberal consensus.

Elena Louisa Lange is Associate Professor at the Institute of Asian and Oriental Studies at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. She is the author of Value without Fetish: Uno Kozo's Theory of Pure Capitalism in Light of Marx's Critique of Political Economy and the co-editor of The Conformist Rebellion: Marxist Critiques of the Contemporary Left.
