This book is intended to be an in-depth and up-to-date guide to the various aspects of the association between blood pressure disorders and acute/chronic renal diseases. In addition, this work includes discussion of topics rarely considered and or acknowledged by in the clinical practice, namely hypertension in different kidney diseases, pathophysiologic mechanisms underlying blood pressure elevation in renal disorders, cardiorenal associations and therapeutic approaches in hypertensive renal disorders.

This book is divided in sections and chapters to cover various phenotypes of renal hypertension and their interactions to kidney disease.

Adel E. Berbari is Emeritus Professor in Faculty of Medicine at the American University of Beirut. He was Professor of Internal Medicine/Physiology at the American University of Beirut Medical Center, Beirut, Lebanon. He graduated in 1959, had his residency training in Medicine at the American University of Beirut Medical Center from 1959 to 1963, and then was Research Fellow at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital (Hypertension Unit), Boston, USA, from 1963 to 1966. He acted as Research Associate at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in 1966. He also acted at the American University of Beirut Medical Center as Chairperson of Department of Physiology (1968) and Internal Medicine (1999-2000), and as Head of the division of Nephrology-Hypertension (1977-2001). He was President of the Lebanese Society of Nephrology and Hypertension, Secretary General of the Lebanese Association for the Advancement of Science, Board member of the Lebanese National Council for Scientific Research, and director of the Board of World Hypertension League. He is President of the Lebanese Hypertension League and Director of the Excellence Center of Nephrology-Hypertension division at AUBMC. He is Board Certified by the European Society of Hypertension as Clinical Hypertension Specialist. His main research interests focus on Hypertension, vascular medicine, and nephrology.

Giuseppe Mancia is Professor Emeritus of the University of Milano-Bicocca and served as Professor of Medicine and Head of the Department of Medicine at San Gerardo Hospital, Monza, Italy. The most widely cited scientist in hypertension worldwide, he is President of the Foundation and chair of the Educational Committee of ESH. Professor Mancia has served as President of the European Society of Clinical Investigation, the European Society of Hypertension, the International Society of Hypertension and the Working Group of Hypertension and the Heart of the European Society of Cardiology. He is a highly cited scientist, has published about 2000 papers in international Journals and has received a large number of Awards, including the Excellence Award of the American Heart Association. Professor Mancia's research interest include pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment of hypertension and cardiovascular diseases in general. He has chaired the Task Force of guidelines on hypertension of the European Societies of Hypertension in the last 20 years.

Dr. Josep Redón has been Professor of Internal Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Valencia since 2006, and Head of the Internal Medicine Department of the Hospital Clinic of Valencia since 1995.His research activity has been carried out in parallel to his clinical activity, putting into practice translational research in the field of Arterial Hypertension and Cardiovascular Risk. Principal investigator and participant in more than 40 national and international competitive projects, he has been President and Officer at Large of the European Society of Hypertension and Fellow of the Council for High Blood Pressure, American Heart Association and Honorary Member of many national Hypertension Societies. He is a Member of the Editorial Board of indexed journals in the field of hypertension, associate editor of the Journal of Hypertension, reviewer of journals in the cardiovascular field and Internal Medicine and author of numerous editorials and review articles by invitation. He has 560 publications in indexed journals, a total of 52407 citations and a cumulative impact factor of over 1100. He has recently been awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree by Carol Davila University, Bucharest, and has received the Health Excellence Award from the European Institute of Health and Social Welfare.
