Experience shows that a case's difficulty rises in accordance with the number of parties involved. A third party causes further issues as soon as they join a case. For this reason it can be helpful to systematically envisage all situations arising from the stipulations the German Civil Code makes regarding third parties, as well as the resulting problems.
