Who is believed and who is not? Who has a voice and who does not? Theories of epistemic injustice, epistemic oppression, and epistemic violence are receiving increasing attention both within and outside of scholarship, which can be seen in social movements like #MeToo and #BlackLivesMatter. This book provides a systematic overview of this broad debate by discussing various theories and shining light on their predecessors.
