The first half of the twentieth century was a particularly fruitful phase for Chinese-German relations, both in the fields of literature and culture, and in education. The impact of this exchange goes far beyond the year 1949. This edited volume uses documentary sources to shed light on encounters between people and their cultures in the Chinese-German context.
