Since 1966 regular meetings have been held between members of the Société de législation comparée and its German equivalent, the Gesellschaft für Rechtvergleichung. The subject matter for the talks given by jurists taking part in the twelfth colloquium in November 2016 was security and freedom. In light of acute threats of terrorism and new technical advances, the question is raised more than ever of how free societies can safeguard their citizens' safety without throwing constitutional principles overboard or violating civil rights and liberties. Nine contributions seek initial responses comparatively and prompt to find mutual benefit by sharing experiences.
Depuis 1966 se tiennent régulièrement des rencontres juridiques entre membres de la Société de législation comparée et de la Gesellschaft für Rechtsvergleichung. Le présent ouvrage rassemble les interventions du 12e colloque, consacré aux rapports entre sécurité et liberté, qui s'est tenu à l'Université de Potsdam les 11 et 12 novembre 2016. L'état de la menace terroriste et les nouvelles possibilités techniques posent plus que jamais la question de savoir comment les sociétés libérales peuvent garantir la liberté des citoyens sans pour autant sacrifier le principe de l'État de droit ou porter atteinte aux droits et libertés individuels. Les neuf contributions recherchent des réponses en poursuivant une approche comparatiste et incitent à profiter des expériences réciproques.
