The Early Modern Period in Germany 16201720 extends the "dictionary of authors" tradition into the 18 th century. The dictionary aims to illuminate the literary forms, dynamics, and debates of the past. Each article offers a biographical portrait while also analyzing and contextualizing the author's works. The articles, which are based on primary sources, also provide details concerning manuscripts, print publications, and research literature.
