2017 will mark the 500 th anniversary of Martin Luther's posting of the theses, overshadowing the 600 th anniversary of the death of the Czech Church reformer, Jan Hus, burned at the stake for heresy by the Council of Constance. What was Hus's contribution to European ecclesiastic and intellectual history? What was the reception of his life and work? How have Czechs and Germans commemorated him?
