This textbook introduces the reader to quantum mechanics, starting from an explanation of compelling experiments that illustrate why classical physics cannot adequately describe our physical world. Next, it introduces quantum mechanics as a theory that explains the experimental results without contradiction. Application examples include flash information memory, quantum cryptography, and the quantum computer.
