This is the first historical-critical edition of Lohenstein's three-part poetry collection "Flowers" (1680). "Roses" predominantly comprises wedding poems, "Hyacinths" mourning poems, and the "Keys to Heaven" secular poems. All texts are furnished with dense commentary according to the principles of the Lohenstein edition, including biographical information about the people to whom Lohenstein pays tribute in the wedding and mourning poems.
