This study interprets the writings of Mexican Nobel Prize laureate Octavio Paz as an open dialectics staged in poetic form and offers new perspectives on his works. By highlighting Paz's convergence with the Frankfurt School, it offers a key to his thinking about history. Tracing the outlines of his writing against the horizon of the global fault lines of the 20 th century, this book makes it relevant to the conflicts of the 21 st century.
