Antonia Schlicht examines the role of compliance decisions in multilateral environmental treaties, shedding light on how international treaties are developed and revealing their effects on constitutional law. Highlighting Article 59 of German Basic Law and the concept of foreign power, the study identifies gaps in legitimacy gaps and offers practical bridging solutions. Measures to improve the internal organization, functioning and interaction of all powers at a national level are also proposed and solutions for international procedures suggested.
