The imputation of knowledge presents a core problem when dealing with organisations that have a high level of labour division, and one which, because of the growing importance of information in the economy and increasingly complex organizational structures, continues to gain significance. The present study develops a concept of knowledge imputation that is equally applicable to all forms of organisation based on the division of labour yet open to different structures.
