The revision 2011 analyzes the development of the law of parentage in a well-founded scientific manner. Among other topics, the central new provision set out in section 1598a and the procedure for enforcing the claim to clarify paternity based on section 1598a are addressed. The competent authority's right to contest in order to prevent the misuse of the acknowledgement of paternity (section 1600 sub-section 1 number 5 and sub-section 6) is also examined. In addition, the commentary takes a critical view of legal and political challenges in this field, such as new forms of artificial reproduction (embryos, embryo donors).
