The new 2023 edition provides detailed, foresighted, solution-based commentary on changes that have taken place in the field of marriage, annulment, and de facto partnerships and that raise difficult legal questions such as the controversial question of whether the "may" rule in § 1314 para. 1 BGB gives the court discretion or instead only names the grounds for annulment and binds the court to a specific ruling.
