Dance and Costumes

The subTexte series of the IPF-Institute for the Performing Arts and Film, is dedicated to presenting original research within two fields of inquiry: Performative Practice and Film.
The series offers a platform for the publication of texts, images, or digital media emerging from research on, for, or through the performative arts or film.
The series contributes to promoting practice-based art research beyond the ephemeral event and the isolated monograph, to reporting intermediate research findings, and to opening up comparative perspectives.

Elna Matamoros (Madrid, 1972) has an extensive career as a Ballet Mistress and Dance Researcher. A frequent lecturer and regular contributor to theatre, design and dance magazines, she has been a member of the Ballet Nacional de España and Compañía Nacional de Danza since 2002. Besides her exhaustive training as a dancer, Matamoros holds a MA in Dance Education from New York University
as a Fulbright Scholar and a PhD in Aesthetics from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. She has been teaching regularly at the Zurich University of the
Arts since 2016.
