Academic Paper from the year 2021 in the subject Sociology - Gender Studies, grade: 4, Wollo University (SOCIAL SCIENCE AND HUMANTIES COLLEGE), course: Gender Studies, language: English, abstract: This paper is aimed to look over theoretical and empirical literature on the issue of women and media institutions in Ethiopia and to recommend the appropriate measures to be taken. A report by the International Women's Media Foundation (IWMF) in 2011 on women in the media workforce shows that women are under-represented in the media industry, especially at decision-making level. Throughout the world, media coverage and media images of women.are inadequate and often misleading suggesting that women are doing and saying nothing of importance.
