Thomas Vormbaum, Jg. 1943, studierte Rechtswissenschaft, Geschichtswissenschaft und Politikwissenschaft an den Universitäten Münster und Würzburg. 1975 Promotion zum Dr. jur. (bei Rudolf Gmür); 1979 Promotion zum Dr. phil. (bei Heinz Dollinger); 1985 Habilitation für die Fächer Strafrecht, Strafprozessrecht und neuere Rechtsgeschichte (bei Jürgen Welp).
