Carmilla. The Vampire

In a lonely castle in Styria, the young Laura falls under the spell of the mysterious Carmilla. But what begins as an intimate friendship soon turns into a dark nightmare, as an eerie illness spreads through the household.
Long before Dracula, LeFanu's haunting tale of female desire laid the foundation for the vampire novel.
